Referendum?
Posted on May 11th, 2010 No commentsAs the dust settles from Obama’s second Supreme Court nominee, it’s again clear how important the elections are this fall. Here is a person whose knowledge of the Constitution is so shallow that the only case she brought before it was shot down by a unanimous vote. Even the liberal judges on the court felt her case and beliefs had absolutely no merit. The fact that she brought this case before the court shows how she would have voted if she were on the bench. Did she even read the Constitution before filing? Will she bother to read it when she is part of the court? Will she read it as the founders intended, or in a manner to somehow justify her personal beliefs? How can Obama say this person is qualified? She isn’t, and nothing Obama says and his liberal cronies come up with will change that.
I believe the November elections are a referendum for this country, like we haven’t had since the fall of Hillary-care. Is the liberal agenda the direction this country wants to go? Federal healthcare mandates, federal control over major businesses, federal control over all financial institutions and transactions, federal control over local projects and appropriations, federal control over schools, federal control over the airwaves, federal border policies that favor illegal aliens over upstanding applicants that respect the rule of law, federal bailouts of people and companies who failed to show any self responsibility. the list goes on and on. Is this the America its people want? Or is this the America that believes in the rule of law, liberty and standing on on your own two feet? An America where control of local schools, institutions and projects is held at the local level? Where people vote for taxes to fund local / state projects, instead of sending money to the Federal government and then beg to get it back? Where hard work and making a profit and paying off your debts is rewarded instead of being penalized by then having to pay for those who failed to do so?
November will be out chance to vote our preference. Nanny –state or a nation of free people. Who and what are you America?

Did you know….

… that they put beautiful women in ads because they get better ratings than ugly women? Did you know that they will put a hispanic in an ad just because the ad will be played in a hispanic area? These decisions are made in terms of marketing and demographics. What plays best to what audience. Now, here is the million dollar question: Did you know that a presidential campaign is largely marketing?
Harry Reid isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, but he can tell you that a light skinned, clear speaking black person has a better chance of getting elected than a dark skinned hip-hop rapper. The nerve of the man to actually say it. (Personally I think the USA is color blind enough that the skin color wouldn’t really be the issue, it would be the ‘urban-english’ that would kill such a candidate. The President represents the United States of America, we all, white and black, want him to sound clear and intelligent.) They were talking strategy and electability, in this case Reid was correct and the election results bear that out.
Should Reid resign over this? Hell no. (It does show the double standard the liberals have, they would be crucifying Rush Limbauh over this.) What he said was factual and normal in a marketing meeting. I don’t know why he felt he needed to apologize, I don’t know why Obama felt he needed to. I think Steele and the Republicans mis-fired on this one. Should have taken the high road and ignored it. They look a bit petty in my opinion.

Obama – A Man With No Honor
Posted on July 30th, 2009 No commentsJust a few words on the Gates episode. Until now I have only questioned Obama’s politics and motivations. Obama shot his mouth off on the Gates episode when he had no business speaking, didn’t even know the facts. Could have been only a little issue if he had come out the next day and said “You know what? I screwed up, I apologize to everyone and will make sure I don’t do it again”. But no, he will not apologize. He will not admit he was wrong. He wants to play it up like he’s some pious peacemaker, bridging the racial divide.
We’re not falling for it. You are proving yourself to be a man who will not admit when he’s wrong, a man without honor. Show some class. Or was the whole thing a setup like the far right says? If that were to be true you would add the word contemptible to your resume.

How to Cap an Economy
Posted on June 27th, 2009 No commentsThe House has passed a cap and trade bill. This was part of Obama’s “Hope” plan, so I assume the majority of Americans support this legislation. Even candidate Obama spoke candidly about the fact that this legislation would make electricity rates sky-rocket. Current estimates place this at $700 to $1400 per family. Some of that will be directly shown in your electricity bill, most will be reflected in everything you buy that uses energy to produce and transport it. Which means everything. This is called legislated inflation. The $700 billion dollars that will leave our pockets will go to the governments pocket to decide where to redistribute it, which makes this officially a tax.
This tax will be on everything produced in the USA. This includes everything we may try to export to other countries. In some cases we can expect the price increases to cost US companies sales in the very competitive world market. Our current customers will turn to other countries whose prices have not gone up since they have refused to hop on the cap and trade band wagon. This includes countries such as China, India, Russia, in fact, most countries. Not due to anything they’ve done, but because one of their competitors has decided to unilaterally place themselves at a disadvantage. The US winds up with fewer sales, fewer jobs and a larger trade deficit.
Why are we doing this? One reason is that it will reduce our dependence on foreign oil by encouraging investment in cleaner technologies. This is a lie, less than two percent of US electricity production uses oil. You could remove it from the system completely and there wouldn’t even be a blip in imports. The real reason is the cleaner technologies and therefore air. What they are really after is to replace coal with cleaner methods. The problem here is, what does the cap and trade do to encourage energy companies to make this investment? What cheaper alternative is there to coal? There is the major flaw in the plan, there is no cheaper alternative. Every alternative is more expensive. The tax will need to be raised in order to make solar or wind cheaper than coal. How high? That is the question.
We found out where the tipping price was with gasoline and that was a 400% increase. When gas went from $1.10 a gallon to $4.40 a gallon people changed their buying habits and looked at higher priced alternatives, such as hybrids. (Unfortunately the economy died in the learning process) We don’t know what that percentage will be for electricity production. Since most of the energy is produced with domestic sources, coal, natural gas, nuclear and are relatively cheap compared to the other alternatives, we may well find a similar percentage will be needed. The question is, what will be left of our economy as the Obama administration and the liberal congress runs their experiment? The gas price increase only directly affected one sector of the economy, transportation. Cap and Trade will place a burden on every aspect of our economy, we can expect the effects to be even more pronounced. I, for one, am afraid of the answer.

Arrogance–the Scary kind.
Posted on April 23rd, 2009 No commentsI must agree with others, that our new President does emit a sense of arrogance when he speaks. In fact I have already grown tired of hearing his voice on the radio and/or television. His comments are predictable, and delivered with an air of condescension and ignorance that has become rather annoying.
The word itself has 2 different meanings. The first meaning is that of self-confidence; a personal awareness of superior ability, talent or knowledge. It is exemplified in the quote from Major League Pitcher Dizzy Dean, the last person prior to Denny McClain to win 30 games in one Season: “If you can do it—it ain’t braggin”.” The second meaning of arrogance denotes a condition of one merely thinking he is better, smarter, etc. than another, but in fact he is not.
It is this second meaning of the word arrogant that applies to President Obama. It is this sense of arrogance that shows when Obama bows to the Saudi King— he thinks he is being gracious, but is oblivious to the fact that he is President of the United States—a country which risked lives, fortunes and personal honor to declare to the world that we were subject to no king! This type of arrogance is displayed again when he hands the bust of Winston Churchill back to the Prime Minister of Great Britain, saying we don’t want it, and fails to acknowledge the British success and support in the war on Terror and in Iraq . Another example is selecting a tax cheat to run the US Treasury—and claiming that we citizens must ignore this shortcoming–Tim Geitner is too smart, and is needed to fix the economic crisis.
Even beyond the President, we see this childish arrogance in his entire administration. The head of Homeland Security claims that returning veterans are a security risk, that illegal immigration is not a crime, and that the 9-11 terrorists enetered the US through Canada. The Secretary of State Hillary Clinton claims that VP Dick Cheney is not a trusted source for what happened in the aftermath of 9-11, but by taking nice to Iran, our allies in Europe will be more willing to apply severe sanctions if sweet-talkin’ doesn’t work. (Honest, that’s what she said!)
The entire administration spent the past 8 years focusing on the few shortcomings of President Bush, they ignored the history that occurred right before their eyes. Not one of them is prepared to lead…and they don’t even realize it. That is SCARY arrogance.
